Abstract Residual current operated protective devices in the residential projects play an important role in people’s daily life，but people get accustomed to pay no attention of detection，wrong detection methods and improper use；it is introduced how to use properly the qualified residual current operated protective devices by testing，so that they can truly become “the patron saint of security” in people’s daily life.
