Application of IEC-based Lightning Protection Angle Method in Rooftop PV System

Abstract:As one of three major methods for the positioning of air‑termination system recognized by IEC standards,lightning protection angle method is widely used in various lightning protection facilities in the world. The protection method and reach of protection of the angle method are analyzed,the angle of shade of common single air‑termination system with a height of no more than 2 m is given for use in engineering. It points out that the frame of rooftop solar photovoltaic panel on buildings is not suitable for the air‑termination system that is used to prevent direct lightning strike,and two specific measures for using the protection angle method to protect rooftop PV panel are given according to the distance between metal or electrical installation and lightning protection system,i.e. lightning protection interval and lightning protection equipotential bonding. Considering that the protection angle method is not adopted in domestic lightning protection specifications,it is recommended that attention shall be paid to the protection angle method and an in‑depth study shall be conducted.

摘 要:防雷保护角法作为IEC标准认可的接闪器定位三大方法之一,在国际上广泛应用于各种防雷设施上;分析保护角法的防护方法、防护范围,给出不大于2 m的常用单根接闪器的保护角度,便于工程使用;指出建筑物屋顶太阳能光伏板的边框不适用于防直击雷的接闪器,并根据金属或电气装置与防雷装置间距大小,按有防雷间隔距离和防雷等电位两种措施给出保护角法对保护屋顶光伏板的具体做法;鉴于国内防雷规范不采用保护角法,提出重视和深入研究保护角法的建议。
